Hi, I’m ALicia Rippy.
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in my counseling services. I look forward to learning more about you. In the mean time, here’s a bit more about me.
I am a Colorado native, born and raised on a small family farm near Silt, CO. After high school, I transferred colleges a couple of times (in and out of state) before finding my fit at Colorado State University. There I obtained my BS in Psychology in the Winter of 2007.
After a brief break, I applied for graduate school through Adams State University and obtained my MA in School Counseling in the Spring of 2013- two months after having our first child!
While becoming the counselor I am today, I have had many unique opportunities within the counseling field. I have experience working in a boys residential treatment program for youth dealing with addiction, neglect, and legal issues.
I also have elementary, middle and high school experience working with diverse populations across differing developmental spans. During my years as a school counselor, I have completed extensive training involving best-practices for anxiety treatment, trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, grief support for children, parents and families, and future life planning.
During the 2020 pandemic, I passed the professional counselor exam and began seeing clients, outside of the school system, under another therapist. In the fall of 2021, I made the bittersweet decision to leave my school counselor position and open my own private practice in order to have more flexibility and time with my family.
I now live in beautiful Castle Rock, CO. When I’m not in my office I love to be outdoors. Whether that’s hiking, camping, being on a river, or enjoying the sunshine on our back patio.
I also enjoy reading, crafting, watching sports, playing card/board games, building puzzles, listening to podcasts, and napping with my two cats - Dottie and Kit.
Traveling and spending time with my two creative children and hilarious husband are among my most favorite things to do!
